After an incredibly active weather week in the Finger Lakes — Friday looks to be a calm, summer-like way to end it.
The weekend forecast looks like a mixed bag, although Saturday will likely be the “pick” day of the weekend. Especially for those who are trying to get outside for a barbecue or some boating.
Friday is expected to be clear with highs into the low-80s. The humidity should be slightly lower than it was early-Thursday, which spawned the heavy rain and storms that rolled through the region — packing quite a punch to the south of the Finger Lakes.
Saturday will be mostly cloudy with a high around 80 degrees. It’ll be a comfortable change, as again, the weather is expected to be “calm” most of that day. There is a chance for some overnight showers or thunderstorms, but nothing major.
According to FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil — Sunday is the day of concern for the region. It’s the day where the atmosphere will setup for a situation like the one experienced on Thursday. While the entire region will not see a major, soaking rainfall — heavy, localized downpours, which could spur flooding — amid rising concerns about severe weather — will make afternoon outdoor activity a challenge.
